Privacy Policy: who handles your information?
LSA.GLOBAL LANGUAGE SERVICE ACADEMY LLC operates LSA GLOBAL LingoLab and is responsible for deciding how personal information is used for the service. Our correspondence address is Office 91, 254 Chapman Rd, Suite 101-B, Newark, Delaware 19702, USA. Contact contacts@lsa-global.com with the subject “LingoLab privacy”. The contact panel below provides direct links.
This Privacy Policy concerns lingolab.lsa-global.com. Other LSA GLOBAL services, such as translation assignments or separately arranged courses, may involve different information and their own notices. Following a link to an examination owner does not make that organisation part of LingoLab. Its service is governed by its own privacy information. We do not claim to be the official awarding body for the examinations discussed here.
Account, contact and preparation information
Account details covered by this Privacy Policy include the first name, last name, email address and password collected at registration, together with your chosen interface language and preparation pathway. The pathway can include a department, examination and level or target. Account identifiers, roles, verification status and relevant timestamps support access to the correct workspace. Passwords are handled through WordPress authentication; they are not displayed in your candidate dashboard.
We use this information to create and protect your account, remember your choices and provide the access you request. If essential account information is missing, we cannot complete registration or provide a protected workspace. Keep your email address accessible and your information accurate. Do not include sensitive personal details in a display name or send your password to support.
Email verification and misuse prevention
The registration process checks the submitted email address through LSA GLOBAL’s configured verification service, which integrates Reoon. It also sends a confirmation link to establish that you can access that mailbox. An address may be rejected or registration paused when verification cannot be completed. Email verification is not a passport check or a guarantee of a person’s legal identity.
LingoLab records verification evidence and uses protected tokens and request limits to reduce account misuse. Network information can contribute to security controls; the registration limiter uses a keyed fingerprint rather than placing a raw address in its limiter key. Hosting and connected security services may separately maintain technical logs. If a legitimate registration is blocked, contact us with the error and approximate time, without sending credentials.
Answers, recordings and assessment records
When you use an available test, we process your selected answers, written responses, submitted speaking recordings, attempt status and related timing or playback information. Depending on the correction route, records can include transcripts, criterion scores, comments, reports and release status. These records support assessment delivery, resuming permitted work and showing your results.
Your voice recording is personal information. LingoLab’s correction workflow uses it to assess language performance, not to create a voice identity or authentication profile. Avoid recording other people or including unnecessary medical, financial or identity information in an answer. The Privacy Policy applies to the information you submit even when a task invites you to describe a personal experience; you can normally use an appropriate fictional example instead.
Human correction and teacher invitations
Where you choose a human correction route, relevant work and assessment information become available to the authorised reviewer through the applicable workflow. A teacher invitation may require a name, email address or other contact information that you supply. Only invite someone with whom you are entitled to share the work and explain why you are providing their details.
Review access is controlled by the platform’s permissions and invitation process. Invitation messages direct the recipient to the relevant service rather than making your assessment a public page. A teacher whom you independently contact may also keep information under their own professional responsibilities. Ask them about that handling. Contact us if you entered the wrong recipient or need help ending an invitation before sharing further information.
Optional AI-supported correction
The AI simulation route requires its own affirmative choice. When enabled and selected, the implemented provider is OpenAI. Relevant written work, task information and assessment criteria are sent for formative feedback. For speaking, audio is sent for transcription, and the resulting text can be used in the assessment request. The returned feedback and operational references are associated with the correction record.
AI output can be inaccurate. It supports preparation and does not issue an official qualification or determine admission, employment or immigration status. Choosing this route is separate from acknowledging this Privacy Policy. Declining it does not itself close your account; other available correction routes depend on the offer. Contact us to withdraw consent for future optional processing or request review. Completed transfers cannot simply be undone by changing a later preference.
Orders, payments and access
We retain information needed to identify an order and provide the purchased access: the account, plan, scope, amount, currency, status and payment references. If a subscription is supported, relevant period and cancellation information also form part of the record. When enabled, Stripe or PayPal receives customer contact and order information to process the transaction when that provider is enabled.
Payment details entered on a provider’s checkout are handled by that provider. The LingoLab order record does not need your full card number or card security code. Never send either to support. Payment providers can have independent fraud-prevention, regulatory and recordkeeping duties. Deleting an assessment does not cancel a payment, erase an invoice or remove records that must be retained for a lawful accounting purpose.
Service messages and reminder choices
We use your email address for account verification, recovery and relevant service messages. Depending on your activity, messages can include trial reminders, teacher invitations, payment-status information and notification that a result is available. The saved interface language is used by the platform’s supported message templates. A message may contain a personal action link, so do not forward it to someone who should not use it.
Trial reminders have a preference control and stop according to the trial’s status. Turning off these reminders does not disable necessary security or transaction messages. This Privacy Policy does not treat an account registration as unlimited permission for promotional mail. Any separate marketing activity must follow its applicable permission and opt-out requirements. Email delivery also depends on the configured mail service and your provider.
Legal grounds covered by this Privacy Policy
Where data-protection law requires a legal ground, necessary account, assessment and purchase processing is used to provide the service you request or take steps before an order. Legal obligations can require financial records and responses to lawful requests. Our legitimate interests include proportionate security, preventing misuse, investigating faults and resolving service disputes, balanced against the effect on you.
Consent is used for optional processing where required, including the selected AI simulation route. We do not describe acceptance of the Terms and Conditions as consent to every use of personal data. You may ask which ground applies to a particular activity. If information is required for a contract or legal obligation, we will explain the relevant consequence of not providing it rather than suggesting every field is optional.
Providers covered by this Privacy Policy
Information is available to authorised LSA GLOBAL personnel according to their responsibilities. Supporting services can include Hostinger hosting, configured email delivery, email verification, payment processing and the optional AI provider described above. Each receives information relevant to the function being used. Human reviewers receive the work needed for their assigned correction route.
We may also disclose information when a valid legal requirement applies or when reasonably necessary to investigate abuse or establish a legal claim. This Privacy Policy does not promise that every supporting provider has identical storage practices. Ask us for details about a specific service. The core LingoLab assessment and account workflows do not contain an advertising-data marketplace or a feature that publishes candidate answers for public browsing.
International processing
LSA GLOBAL serves users in different countries, and its operator is based in the United States. Hosting, mail, payment, verification and AI services may process information in countries other than your own. The location of a corporate office does not establish the location of every server or copy of information.
Contact us for the destinations and transfer arrangements relevant to the feature you intend to use. Where applicable law requires a transfer safeguard, that requirement continues to apply; using the website or reading this Privacy Policy does not by itself waive it. We do not claim in this notice that all data stays within one country or that a particular contractual transfer mechanism is in place for every possible integration.
Privacy Policy: how long information is kept
Retention depends on the purpose and record type. Active account and assessment records support access, progress and correction until they are removed through an available deletion process or no longer needed. We consider account activity, unresolved corrections, payment obligations, security investigations, disputes and applicable legal requirements. There is no single automatic deletion period for every record in the platform.
Expired verification links and temporary browser recovery have different operating limits from assessment history. Payment and legal records can need longer retention than an exercise. Archiving changes where an assessment appears; it is not a retention deadline or deletion. You may ask about a particular record and the reason for keeping it. Backups and independent provider records are not necessarily erased at the same moment as an active database record.
Archive, permanent deletion and account requests
The records workspace lets an eligible user archive completed assessments and permanently delete eligible archived records. Permanent deletion removes the related candidate assessment records and associated private recordings through the platform’s cleanup process. Ongoing work or correction may prevent deletion until it can be completed safely. A failed cleanup should not be treated as successful deletion merely because a page was refreshed.
This action does not erase the shared examination content, close your account or automatically cancel a subscription. To request broader account deletion or removal beyond the records controls, contact us using your account email. Explain the scope of your request so we can distinguish an assessment cleanup from account closure. This Privacy Policy preserves any legal right to erasure, subject to applicable exceptions.
Browser storage and device permissions
Cookies help authenticate signed-in users and remember the selected interface language. Browser storage also supports your theme, language and temporary answer or recording recovery. The Cookie Policy lists the platform’s known storage keys, purposes and operating limits. Clearing browser data does not delete the corresponding account or assessment from our server.
A speaking task requests microphone access through your browser. Grant it only when you intend to record, and use your browser controls to withdraw it afterwards. The platform’s exam recorder does not need a general right to listen outside that feature. On a shared device, sign out, avoid a persistent sign-in choice and check for locally retained work before another person uses the same browser profile.
A country hint supplied by the host or your browser time zone can suggest a display currency. You can change that choice. A selected currency may be remembered with your account and in the lsa_dep_currency cookie. Daily exchange-rate requests are made by our server without sending your account, email address or visitor IP address to the rate service. Currency is a display preference, not proof of residence.
Your rights under this Privacy Policy
Depending on the law that applies to you, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or a portable copy of qualifying information. You may also withdraw consent for future consent-based processing. These rights have conditions and exceptions; for example, another person’s information may need to be protected when responding to an access request.
Send a request to contacts@lsa-global.com, identify the account and describe the outcome you seek. We may need proportionate verification before disclosing or changing private information. Do not send an identity document unless a secure and necessary verification process has been explained. We will handle requests within the applicable legal timeframe and explain any lawful extension or refusal. Requesting support through email does not require you to purchase a plan.
Your right to object and complain
You may object to processing based on legitimate interests where the applicable law gives that right. Explain your circumstances so the activity can be reviewed. You can object to direct marketing, where applicable, without having to justify that decision. This objection is separate from deleting a test or changing the interface language.
If you are concerned about our handling of information, contact us and describe the issue. You may also complain to the competent data-protection or consumer authority where you live or where the relevant processing occurs. For UK matters the Information Commissioner’s Office publishes guidance; EU residents can consult their national supervisory authority. The official reference links below help you find information without treating this Privacy Policy as a substitute for those authorities.
Children and information about other people
Under this Privacy Policy, the general self-registration service is not intended for children under 13, consistent with LSA GLOBAL’s published privacy position. If local law requires a parent’s involvement for an older minor, contact us before registration or purchase to discuss a suitable arrangement. Email confirmation alone does not verify age or establish parental permission.
If you believe a child has submitted information without an appropriate arrangement, notify us so we can investigate and take the necessary action. Do not include children’s personal information in practice answers or teacher contact fields unnecessarily. Similarly, use fictional details for third parties in exercises where possible. A language-learning task is not a request for sensitive information about your family, colleagues or clients.
Privacy Policy updates, security and contact
The platform uses authenticated access, permission checks and protected delivery of candidate recordings. These measures reduce risk but do not justify a promise that an online service can never experience a security incident. Protect your own credentials and report unexpected account activity with the relevant date and page. Do not put passwords, card details or private recordings into an ordinary support message unless a suitable transfer method has been arranged.
We will keep this Privacy Policy aligned with changes to the service and show its revision date. A material new use of information may require additional notice or a new choice before it begins. Save or print this page if you need a copy. For questions about privacy, a provider or your records, use the contact information below.
